Due to a rainy, windy forecast just a few days out, the organizers have cancelled this year’s event. We’ve all had a solid practice run organizing a mid sized climbing fest now, and hope to see everyone next year!
Come join us at Auburn State Recreation Area (ASRA), with REI and many other partners for 24 hours of fun for our First Annual Cave Valley Climbing Fest! Cave Valley is one of the most recent climbing access victories in the region thanks to the efforts of ASRA, CRAGS and the local climbing community. Let’s celebrate this milestone together the best way we know how, outside! New and experienced climbers are welcome with open climbing, service projects led by CRAGS and supported by a REI grant, gear demos from vendor partners, food, and classes. Take a break and lounge a bit with your friends at the REI Village or enjoy some hands-on activities. Capping the day will be an outdoor screening of REEL ROCK 11 sponsored by Sacramento Pipeworks Climbing Gym. Register for Cave Valley Climbing Fest by Thursday, October 13th. Overnight camping at Cave Valley is available only for this event with limited space and a minimal fee. Separate registration for camping is required at the link provided below. ASRA day use parking fees are also required for all participants. Whether you come out for the whole day or just part of it, we’ll see you at the crag! No experience necessary!
Please sign up for free on the REI event registration web page to reserve your spot as an attendee at the Fest.
We always need volunteers! If you’d like to help organize with us, use our Eventbrite Volunteer Event page to do so. We’ll kick you down with a free campsite and t-shirt as thanks.
